On October 29, 2018, the 5th Meeting of Zizhu New Media Management Research Center Administrative Committee with Zizhu Hi-Tech Zone’s representatives was held at China (Shanghai) Network Audio-Visual Industry Base.





On October 29, 2018, the 5th Meeting of Zizhu New Media Management Research Center Administrative Committee with Zizhu Hi-Tech Zone’s representatives was held at China (Shanghai) Network Audio-Visual Industry Base.

Attendees were Ben LEE, USC Co-Director of Zizhu New Media Management Research Center, Clinical Professor at Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, Guang XIA, Deputy General Manager of Zizhu National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, Ding CHEN, Vice General Manager of Shanghai Zizhu Digital Creativity Hub Co. Ltd., Bofu ZHENG, Executive Deputy Director of the Administration Office of China (Shanghai) Network Audio-Visual Industry Base, Fei PENG, Senior Manager of Investment Promotion Department of Shanghai Zizhu Digital Creativity Hub Co., Ltd., Weimin ZHANG, Dean of ICCI, Jinzhang JIANG, Vice Dean of ICCI and SJTU Co-Director of Zizhu New Media Management Research Center, Feng ZHAO, Vice Dean of ICCI, Yi XU, faculty representative of ICCI. The meeting was hosted by Jinzhang JIANG.

Jinzhang JIANG reported the progress of the first round of joint research projects since 2016, including the two international symposiums. Based on his analysis, JIANG concluded that academic achievements were more substantial than expected, taking the form of 1 monograph, 2 book chapters, 15 journal articles, 13 conference papers, 19 research reports, 1 international salon dialogue and 1 social media data acquisition system; He summarized the projects’ progress into a report, titled “New Era of Research on New Communication Media Management - the Essence of 1st Round Research Achievements”, as well as the related “Industry Consultation Report.” Looking ahead, JIANG also introduced the next 11 funded joint research projects.

Ben LEE made a supplementary report on the development of the Center, expressed his affirmation toward the publications. He said that he always has and always will involve more experts into the Center’s research from University of Southern California and the United States.

After carefully reading of the reports, Mr. Ding CHEN agreed with the assessments of the first round projects, and thinks that proposals of the second round can expand and extend on the first. On behalf of Zizhu, Mr. Guang XIA expressed high expectation of the connection between Center’s research and the demands of Zizhu.

Weimin ZHANG, in his closing remarks, described the state of the relationship between the Center’s research mission, and Zizhu’s enterprise development in the short, medium and long term. He believes that the Center will continuously strengthen the dialogue and interaction with Zizhu, promote research scholars to account more about Zizhu’s needs, and to provide research support for Zizhu’s long-term problem solving capabilities.
