Yan GE received his B.A. degree from Northwest University, China, and his Master of Art Theory degree from Chinese National Academy of Arts. From the University of Pittsburgh (U.S.), he received his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Art Archaeology. He also holds a master degree in information science.
Yan GE has served in Chinese National Academy of Arts, Birmingham Museum of Art, Philadealphia Museum of Art, Boston College, Jupiter Media Metrix, Shenzhen University, and Shenzhen Graduate School of Tsinghua University. His research interests mainly focus on communication behavior, media organization and art history and archaeology.
