Xiaojun TAO
Research Field: Art Market and Cultural Communication, Chinese Art History, Art Theory
Prof. TAO is a tenured professor at USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is also a part-time professor and PhD supervisor at Tongji University. He works as the director of the Research Center of Chinese Art and Social History of Central China Normal University, Vice President of Shanghai Zhigong Calligraphy and Painting Academy, director of the Art History Professional Committee of the Chinese Art Theory Society, and Vice president of Guizhou Animation Industry Association. He is a fellow member of the 16th Cultural Committee of the Chinese Zhigong Party, a member of the China Artists Association, and a member of the China Calligraphers Association.
Prof. TAO has received two third-class awards for Excellent Achievements in Scientific Research of Higher Education Institutions (Humanities and Social Sciences) from the Ministry of Education, as well as one first award and three third awards for Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences at the provincial and ministerial level.
Prof. TAO has led two annual projects from the National Social Science Foundation, as well as two more projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation. Additionally, he has led one sub-project of a major program of the National Social Science Foundation. He was also granted six provincial and ministerial social science funds.
Prof. TAO has published nine books and textbooks as well as more than 70 papers in CSSCI-indexed academic journals such as Literature and Art Studies, Academic Monthly, Social Sciences in Jiangsu, Academic Research, Journal of Tsinghua University (Social Sciences edition), Journal of Nanjing University (Philosophy, humanities, Social Sciences edition), etc. Many of his publications have been reprinted in Xinhua Digest and Renmin University Copy Materials.
