Since its establishment, the Center has consistently prioritized promoting the development of education within the cultural and creative industries as its foremost mission. In the field of academic programs for cultural and creative disciplines, building upon the integration of industry and education, the Center explores co-creation-based teaching methodologies; aligned with industry needs, it offers relevant training courses in cutting-edge areas such as cultural and creative innovation and entrepreneurship, data/digital assets, virtual content creation, and new types of productive forces; simultaneously, the Center actively promotes public cultural and creative education, focuses on the comprehensive development of humanistic literacy among college students and adolescents, and advances initiatives such as rural reading culture and the enhancement of communication skills among young people.

At the end of 2025, the report on the special research findings titled The Road of Industry-Education Co-creation of Cultural Originality attracted widespread attention from both industry and education sectors. Funded as an annual planned research project of the Shanghai Society of Higher Education, this research was carried out based on the teaching practice of the Innovation Fund course involving six cohorts of students and nearly one hundred industrial mentors. Nearly 60 project outcomes have verified the capacity of college youth to serve as the main force of cultural innovation in fields including cultural decoding and recreation, social demand identification, integration of culture and technology, innovation of aesthetic expression, and civilizational communication. Meanwhile, these outcomes offer a referential industry-education co-creation model for universities to function as incubators of cultural originality.

Since its establishment, the Center has provided comprehensive support for the resource expansion and student practice initiatives associated with the "Cultural and Creative Industry Research" course within the School's Journalism and Communication major. Over more than a decade, the Center has guided ICCI students to visit over 150 enterprises, accurately identifying industry hotspots while avoiding redundant approaches. This journey spans from visiting the frontlines of the cultural and creative sector to exploring innovation generation and transformation; from fostering industry-education integration to achieving joint industry-education collaboration; and from conceptual framework development and process design to resource expansion and the co-construction of a value system. Through continuous reflection and refinement—manifested in everyday remarks and observations—the Center has served as both an observer, recorder, and witness to the evolution of cultural and creative education: "Pearl Preface".

These events serve to share cutting-edge creativity of digital cultural enterprises, explore pathways for Chinese digital culture to enter overseas markets, connect global development resources, and drive mutual growth.

Knowledge and action should be integrated. Cultural and creative education needs to break the boundaries of classrooms and contribute to public cultural undertakings. The Remote Mountain Reading Public Welfare Teaching Assistant Program recruits volunteer reading tutors among college students nationwide. Via remote video, it delivers weekly reading courses lasting 90 minutes for 16 weeks per semester, with one book assigned each week, and donates books to rural primary schools. Targeting rural primary schools in mountainous areas and ethnic minority regions, the program aims to improve pupils' independent reading ability and proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, elevate the digitalization of rural education, boost the development of rural reading culture, bring college students closer to rural areas, encourage young people to participate in rural revitalization, and advance rural education.

Supported by enterprises including DoBe Group and Dazang Bookstore as well as all sectors of society, the four-year-old program has expanded its reach to areas such as Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan, Eryuan in Yunnan, Guiyang and Bijie in Guizhou. In 2025, the program served more than 1,000 rural primary school students with nearly 130 college student volunteer tutors and donated almost 1,000 books. The initiative has earned widespread positive feedback from the public. Multiple parties helped select reading materials, and mainstream media including Guangming Daily generated over 300,000 total views for relevant coverage.
