The center maintains close ties with experts, entrepreneurs, and educators in the field of the global creative economy; on one hand, it promotes the internationalization of Chinese culture; on the other hand, it strengthens active cooperation in areas such as digital and AI content creation, the development of the global cultural and creative industry, and cultural and creative innovation and entrepreneurship—through approaches like attracting foreign investment and collaborative co-creation—thereby facilitating the international development of talent, content, markets, and IP research and development for China's cultural and creative sector.
"The Future to See Future" International Youth Digital Intelligence Cultural Exchange and Co-creation Platform is hosted by the Center, the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries (ICCI) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and organized by the Global Cultural and Creative Cooperation & Education Development Center. The platform focuses on the deep integration of digital intelligence technologies with cultural creativity in the AI era, promoting the collaborative development of industry, academia, and research among global youth through various channels—including international and domestic exhibitions, thematic co-creation, IP commercialization, and customized creative production—while serving both the global expansion of China's digital intelligence creative industry and the international dissemination of Chinese culture.
The platform has undergone three iterations: in 2022, the inaugural exhibition was held in Shanghai, establishing it as an international platform for digital creativity pioneers; in 2024, it debuted at the London Design Festival, becoming a new paradigm for China's digital culture going global and receiving high recognition from the Chinese Embassy in the UK; in 2025, it served as an invited exhibition at the Shanghai International Arts Festival, empowering new consumption across all age groups and promoting the integrated development of culture, sports, tourism, commerce, and exhibitions.
The platform is guided by four core philosophies: technological leadership, the integration of digital and real economies, global co-creation, and global expansion for innovation. For the internationalization of China's digital culture, the platform innovates communication paradigms and facilitates mutual learning between civilizations; for the creation of digital-intelligent content, it bridges the transformation gap from creativity to commercialization, drives high-quality international development, and provides a solid foundation for the digital-intelligent cultural and creative industries as well as the international dissemination of Chinese culture.
In early May 2026, a global report titled "Global AI Issues in the Cultural and Creative Industries: 11 Key Actions" was recently released. This report was led by the AI Lab team within the Global Creative Economy Committee (GCEC) of the Creative Industry Policy and Advocacy Centre (Creative Industry PEC), a partner organization of the British Council; it was developed through expert consultations and case studies across various countries worldwide, and proposes 11 action guidelines on how artificial intelligence can empower the development of cultural and creative industries—guidelines that warrant focused attention from global creative economy policymakers, practitioners in the cultural and creative sectors, researchers and educators, innovators and entrepreneurs, as well as relevant individuals. Upon its release on the website of the British Council's Creative Economy Policy and Advocacy Centre, the report garnered significant global attention. Members of the GCEC Committee—Octavio Kulesz (Argentina/Italy), Pearl Wang Haoqing (Director of the Centre), and Kelly Wilhelm (Canada)—served as co-leaders of the project team and will lead future international discussions on this topic.
