Dr. Jun YAO graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication, Wuhan University. Prior to joining Shanghai Jiao Tong University, he had 24 years of operational experience in advertising and media companies, excelling in business analysis, marketing, brand communication, media management and other fields, and is a management and marketing expert with profound understanding and insight into the Chinese advertising market.

His representative works boast both influence and social consensus, such as Reunion (the work for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China), Uphold the Sky (a special project for the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China), Why do we need Shenzhen (the city brand film for the 40th anniversary of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone), and public initiatives including Moss Flower Covenant, The Post-90s Generation and Declaration of Chinese Service Providers.

Over the years, he has served as the Deputy Director of the China Advertising Academic and Education Professional Committee, the expert of the China Advertising Think Tank, and the final judge for awards including the Great Wall Award of China International Advertising Festival, National College Students Advertising Art Competition, Shanghai International Public Service Advertising Competition, and New York Festivals. He has won numerous industry honors and been awarded titles such as "Academic and Technical Leader in the Advertising Industry", "Leading Figure in Innovation and Development", and "Outstanding Contemporary Advertising Person in China".
