Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Internationalization, Interdisciplinary Focus, and Industry Orientation", in July 2022, USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI) has been approved to establish the first "Digital Cultural Creation and Management" interdisciplinary master's degree program among national universities and the first non-catalog major master's degree program at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). This program places emphasis on cultivating innovative talents in digital cultural creation and management, focusing on a five-dimensional teaching system that intertwines "Curation and Digital Artifacts and Museum", "Film and Digital Media", "Digital Music and Management", "Artificial Intelligence and Innovative Design" and "Digital Communication and Brand Management."
Students who meet the degree requirements of SJTU and pass the thesis defense will be awarded SJTU Master of Digital Cultural Creation and Management degree and students who meet the degree requirements of overseas partner institution will be awarded related degree by overseas partner institution.
Program Length: 2.5 years, full-time study
Tuition: The annual tuition at SJTU is 108,000 RMB per academic year per person. Tuition and fees payable to overseas partner institution will be due by dates set by and subject to the policy of overseas partner institution.
Teaching Language: Primarily conducted in English
1. The First Academic Year: at SJTU
2. The Second Academic Year: at Overseas Partner Institution OR SJTU
Overseas Partner Institution: Students admitted to Overseas Partner Institution need to take courses according to the requirements of the partner institution.
OR SJTU: Students not applying for Overseas Partner Institution degree program will continue their study at SJTU.
3. The Last Term: at SJTU
All students must complete their graduate thesis at SJTU and successfully pass their thesis defense in order to obtain the SJTU Master Degree of Digital Cultural Creation and Management.
Supervisor Group System
In accordance with the cultivating requirements for creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary studies, the supervisor group is composed of individuals with diverse professional backgrounds in engineering, cultural creativity, management, and other fields. Supervisor group includes academic supervisors, industrial supervisors and international supervisors. Each supervisor group is responsible for guiding a certain number of students and operates under a mutual selection mechanism between supervisors and students for the purpose of education and cultivating.
