On April 18, the 5th Sino-French Cultural Festival and Campus International Music Festival, themed "VOYAGER" in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations and the 2024 Sino-French Cultural Tourism Year, was held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Hufaguang Stadium, which attracted nearly a thousand Chinese and international students and faculty.

At the event, music programs jointly prepared by the USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI), the UM-SJTU Joint Institute (JI), the SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT), the College of Smart Energy (CSE), and SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) brought a fresh music experience and artistic beauty to SJTU faculty and students.  Distinguished guests, including SJTU Vice President Weidong LIU, SPEIT Party Secretary Cailian CHEN, Chinese Dean Wenming ZHANG, Deputy Party Secretary Xue YAO and Vice Dean Shengyi ZHONG, JI Dean Qianbin CHEN and Deputy Party Secretary Yanchun YANG, ICCI Deputy Party Secretary Feng ZHAO, and CSE Duputy Party Secretary Jiu CHEN attended the event.

Representing Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Weidong LIU warmly welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude to the participating teachers and students. He emphasized the longstanding friendship and extensive cooperation between China and France, particularly in fields such as medicine and engineering, where Shanghai Jiao Tong University has closely collaborated with France. With this year marking the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations and the Sino-French Cultural Tourism Year, he encouraged every teacher and student to fully embrace the multicultural charms of the Sino-French Cultural Festival and Campus International Music Festival, actively contributing to Sino-French friendship.

In the form of a garden party, the Cultural Festival consisted of 7 market areas, with each theme representing a letter in "VOYAGER": Vêtement, Oasis, Ysopet, Athlétique, Gourmand, Espérance, and Renaissance. These stalls  brought together Sino-French elements in fashion, cuisine, art, and sports. Students and faculty engaged in entertaining games, quizzes, and food sampling, celebrating multiculturalism and its richness.

At the Music Festival, ICCI teachers Yihong SUN and Zhixin XU delivered standout performances. SUN mesmerized the audience with his guitar solo Wide Sky evoking a refreshing ambiance against the backdrop of clear skies. XU's interactive computer music demo, La nuit bleue showcased the allure of computer-generated music, concluding the Music Festival with a blend of culture and creativity.
