On the morning of March 23, a delegation from the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at King’s College London—including Dr. Virginia Crisp, Head of the Department of Arts, and Angela Jin, Senior Partnerships Manager (China) from the university’s central International Office—visited the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI). The meeting was held at Xuhui Campus, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The delegation was warmly received by Weimin ZHANG, Dean and Tenured Professor of ICCI; Yi XU, Assistant Dean and Associate Research Fellow; and Jiachen LIU, Assistant Dean and Director of the Industry Cooperation Office.

During the meeting, Yi XU introduced ICCI’s academic development and educational initiatives, highlighting key achievements in degree program admissions and training as well as international student exchange. She also presented several of ICCI’s signature programs and events, including the MPA-ICCI International Film Master Camp, the International Summer Camp, the IDMIC International Digital Music Competition, and the  ICCI ART Valley Program– International Visiting Art Scholar Activities. These initiatives demonstrate ICCI’s ongoing efforts in industry-academia collaboration and global talent cultivation.

Dr. Virginia Crisp expressed appreciation for the warm reception and highly commended ICCI’s innovative approach to education, disciplinary development, and international talent training. She also introduced the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at King’s College London, outlining its faculty structure and student development framework, with particular emphasis on its strengths in interdisciplinary teaching and international academic exchange. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as student recruitment policies and doctoral scholarship mechanisms.

Weimin ZHANG warmly welcomed Dr. Crisp and her colleagues. He noted that ICCI and King’s College London already share a foundation for collaboration and expressed hope that the two institutions will further expand their partnership—deepening cooperation in faculty and student exchanges, joint training programs, academic research, and international initiatives. Such collaboration will help promote the integrated development of the arts and humanities in the digital age.

The visit further strengthened the friendly relationship between the two institutions and laid a solid foundation for deeper collaboration in talent cultivation, academic exchange, and international partnership in the future.
