The Second Meeting of ICCI Joint Administrative Committee Was Successfully Carried out

The second meeting of Joint Administrative Committee of USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI, for short) was held at Minhang campus on 8:30, September 29 (17:30, September 28 at PST)

Attendees were Jiang Sixian, Party Secretary of SJTU, Vice Principal Huang Zhen and Xu Xuemin, Zhang Weimin, Secretary of CPC General Branch of ICCI and Executive Vice Dean, Vice Dean of Graduate School Yang Shengrong, Shantanu Dutta, Chair Professor from USC Marshall Business School and Academic Director of ICCI, and Joint Academic Director of ICCI, Professor Baizhu Chen. Michael Quick, Vice Director of Joint Administrative Committee, Provost of USC and Senior Vice Principal for Academic Affairs, Vice Principal Anthony Bailey, James G Ellis, Dean of Marshall Business School, Ernest J Wilson, Dean of Annamberg School of Journalism and Communication and Professor Ben Lee from Annamberg, they joined the meeting through internet at America. The meeting was hosted by Zhang Jie, Principal of SJTU and Director of ICCI Joint Administrative Committee, via phone.

Zhang Weimin made a report at the meeting on the development of ICCI during the period of 2015 and 2016 in terms of  enrollment and education, cooperation on scientific research, establishment of faculty and construction of new teaching sites.

ICCI implements Dean Responsibility System under the leadership of Joint Administrative Committee. A series of issues were discussed among members from this supreme organ of authority, Joint Administrative Committee, at the meeting.

Zhang Jie, in his speech, expressed his confidence in the cooperation between USC and SJTU. He believes that ICCI will carry forward both universities’ strengths and will educate a new generation of cultural and creative elites who possess an innovative mind and a global vision. The achievement made by ICCI within the academic year was also highly regarded by Provost Michael Quick who has a faith in setting the institute as the role model for future cooperation between two schools. According to Jiang Sixian, SJTU encourages its students in exploration and innovation, always has and always will.
