The program focuses on philosophy, digital technology, art management, practice development, etc., facing the market and industrial demand. It offers directions such as Digital Curation, Film and New Media, and introduces the international top-quality faculty to deliver comprehensive instruction in both theory and practice. Equipped with professional laboratory and facilities, and combined with the industry leaders, ICCI provides diversified integration cultivating base for teaching, scientific research and talent cultivating. Students who meet the degree requirements of SJTU and pass the thesis defense will be awarded SJTU Master of Design degree and students who meet the degree requirements of overseas partner institution will be awarded by overseas partner institution.
Note: In accordance with the MOE, USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI)'s former "Master of Fine Arts" (Arts Management) program (code: 135100) has been correspondingly changed to "Master of Design" (Arts Management) program (code: 135700).
Program Length: 3 years, full-time study
Tuition: The annual tuition at SJTU is 108,000 RMB per academic year per person. Tuition and fees payable to overseas partner institution will be due by dates set by and subject to the policy of overseas partner institution.
Teaching Language: Bilingual in Chinese and English
1. The First Academic Year: at SJTU
2. The Second Academic Year: at Overseas Partner Institution OR SJTU
Overseas Partner Institution: Students admitted to Overseas Partner Institution need to take courses according to the requirements of the partner institution.
OR SJTU: Students not applying for Overseas Partner Institution degree program will continue their study at SJTU.
3. The Third Academic Year: at SJTU
All students must complete their graduate thesis at SJTU and successfully pass their thesis defense in order to obtain the SJTU Master Degree of Design.
Supervisor Group System
In accordance with the cultivating requirements for creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary studies, the supervisor group is composed of individuals with diverse professional backgrounds in engineering, cultural creativity, management, and other fields. Supervisor group includes academic supervisors, industrial supervisors and international supervisors. Each supervisor group is responsible for guiding a certain number of students and operates under a mutual selection mechanism between supervisors and students for the purpose of education and cultivating.
